Deep Rooted, since 2022, has been a trusted name in providing contamination-free fruits and vegetables. As the demand for clean eating continues to grow, we are expanding our product line to include a broader range of clean, healthy foods. This expansion aims to offer consumers a more holistic approach to their dietary choices, ensuring that purity and quality extend beyond fruits & vegetables.

From the outset, we have dedicated ourselves to delivering high-quality, chemical-free produce. By forging strong relationships with farmers and implementing stringent quality control measures - in cultivation and handling of the produce, we have set a standard for quality in the Fruits & Vegetables space. Now, Deep Rooted, through partnerships with other trustworthy brands, is poised to bring the same level of excellence to a variety of other food categories.

Transparency and sustainability remain central to Deep Rooted’s ethos. Each new product will be accompanied by clear sourcing and product information to ensure you can make informed and responsible choices.

Why partnerships?

Diversifying the product line through partnerships rather than producing everything in-house offers several advantages:

  • Expertise and Specialisation - each category requires specialized knowledge and expertise to ensure quality. By partnering with established producers who already excel in these areas, we can leverage their expertise to deliver products that embody Deep Rooted’s philosophy of clean eating. For instance, it takes years of experience and sustainable practices to produce organic milk and cheese that meet our “clean food” standards more efficiently than if we were to start from scratch

  • Ensuring consistent quality - maintaining high standards across all our product categories is crucial. By partnering with trusted producers, we ensure that each new product adheres to our rigorous quality and clean criteria. These partners are selected for their dedication to sustainable and ethical practices, reflecting our core-values

  • Sustainable growth - Strategic partnerships enable us to scale more efficiently and sustainably, minimizing our environmental impact. This approach allows us to expand our product line more quickly while maintaining our commitment to eco-friendly practices.

FAQ

Why are the list of non-Fruits & Vegetables products so limited?

This is just the products at launch. Over time, we will make the offering even more comprehensive

Deep rooted is contamination-free (but not organic) but why have you decided to list only organic products in non-Fruits & Vegetables category

Our endeavor is always to offer ‘contamination free’ products and in the dairy products, ‘organic’ is a well established category standing the tests of traceability and quality. And the current partner chosen has over a decade’s legacy in offering organic dairy products.

Does this mean that all your non-Fruits & Vegetables offering will be organic?

No. Our choice boils down to the right partners who showcase expertise in their category and the products stand the tests of being “contamination free”. Even within dairy, from time to time, we may list ‘contamination-free’ but not necessarily organic products.

You have not listed the most basic product ‘milk’ in Dairy category. Why?

Our current delivery mode (slot and timings and also consumers choosing mostly non-doorstep delivery) does not render itself optimal to deliver a recurring item like milk. Down the road, we may introduce it, when we are ready to offer a convenient experience to the consumer. However, we do have a range of UHT (Ultra-High Temperature pasteurized) milk products. Do check them out

Who is responsible for the quality of the product - Deep Rooted or the partner?

Given the longer shelf-life for most of these products, Deep Rooted is responsible for ensuring we give products that have not expired (for each product we have a buffer period before expiry where we don't ship the product). Once the product pack is opened, if there are quality issues the partner is responsible.

Does this mean we have to raise the complaint with both?

No, it's sufficient if you raise complaints on the DR app (like how you raise requests for Fruits & Vegetables). The complaint will be handled as outlined in the T&C. Having said that, we will never hide the partner brand’s label on the products. Therefore, if one wishes to, they can also reach out to the customer care of the partner directly. We would recommend that DR be the first step of complaint so that the resolution (refund or replacement) can be handled smoothly.

Are the returns and refund process different for these categories?

Pls refer to the T&C section.

Why is Deep Rooted working with partners and not doing things on your own?

It all boils down to expertise and specialization. Refer to the ‘Why Partnership’ section in the ‘Elevating Clean Eating’ blog on our website

Does all of this mean Deep Rooted is pivoting to become an E-commerce or Quick-commerce like player?

NO. We see ourselves as a Fruits & Vegetables brand but offering other ‘clean products’ is an extension of serving our consumers more holistically

Why is Deep Rooted doing all of this?

The decision to offer beyond Fruits & Vegetables was driven by consumer feedback and market trends. Consumers who trusted Deep Rooted for their Fruits & Vegetables expressed their desire for similar clean option in other categories. For us working with partners offered the right balance for meeting consumer needs as well as sticking to our ‘clean eating’ ethos

What other products can we see in the future?

We will strengthen the dairy portfolio in the short-term. Following that would be addition of select grocery items and even eggs, maybe! Wait and watch
